I don’t think you’re wrong. But there are kits out there to turn regular truck beds into dump beds.

There are but typically they ride higher (they need to be reinforced to handle the load and even then are restricted by the pump (it’s not your normal hydraulic)

The truck photographed in the post isn’t a dumper. There no visible jack where the would be one and the rope holding the box on is a hint. It looks like it’s an 8ft box on a 6.5 ft frame (transporting it).
